Nice place in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, usually busy but always space to sit. Food is good with a nice variety of options. The salads, empanadas, and baked goods have not disappointed. Space is clean and nice and like that they have WiFi. It's been a good space to meet colleagues for a bit of work if needed.

the croissant itself was pretty mid in terms of texture (not much lamination and kind of dense), and the chocolate hazelnut filling was alright

Longtime Hayes Valley stalwart and while La Boulangerie has lost some artisanal cred over the years, this prime location makes for great people-watching. Decent coffee and pastries. Nothing best in class but will suffice for an afternoon catch up. There are other coffee spots nearby if you're looking for something specific. Almond croissant is a reliable order but pull up a chair and enjoy the laid back energy right in the heart of Hayes. Outdoor seating available for some afternoon sunshine.

La Boulangerie Hayes Valley is fantastic. Super helpful and straightforward. Perfect for working or grabbing a bite in the morning or afternoon. The location is awesome, right across from the park, with lots of dogs around. Their butter croissant and almond croissant are top-notch--definitely French bakery level. Highly recommend this spot for a quick, delicious bite.

Okay so basically there are a few of these. My rule is always is the more locations you open up the more erratic the quality of the product can become. This is especially true with something as delicate as pastries. I've been to the location and pine street and my socks stayed on my feet because they were not knocked off. The location in Hayes Valley has some things figured out. I've been to this spot several times and been pleased every time. This bakery will not rise to the level of the elites in SF but it's a very good bakery. Very solid interior always with more than just pastry options. I'm only here to rank flavor though. I won't get involved in the outside noise of other things. La (Insert That French Name Here), great job. (4.3 Stars)

Great kouign amman, ginger molasses cookie, chocolate brownie, almond croissant and savory croissants. Complimentary water available. One large, single stall bathroom in the back. Good location. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. But the dining area needs a spruce-up. It reminds me of a school cafeteria.

Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: One of my go tos for brunch. Would I come back: Yes. The extended review... Food: Croissant French Toast - 5/5 - One of the best French toasts in the city in my opinion. It's specific and has a good flavor to it. My guess is it's all the butter! Service: 4/5 - Friendly staff. Ambiance: 4/5 - A very chill and lax vibe. Pay at the counter and get a number. One of the best places in the neighborhood.
